Privacy policy

As of November 2026. This policy describes which personal data is processed when you visit serverbouncer.com. It applies to this website, not to the ServerBouncer software itself: the software runs entirely on your servers and sends no data to us. The German version is authoritative.

1. Controller

2. No trackers, no analytics, no third parties

This website loads no third-party content: no fonts, no scripts, no analytics or advertising services, no social media plugins, no embedded videos or maps. All files come from our own server. There is no tracking and no profiling.

3. Hosting and server logs

When a page is requested, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, status code and browser and operating system identifier. This data is needed to deliver the page, analyse errors and protect the website against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. Server logs are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific security incident. The connection is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).

Where we use a hosting provider to operate the servers, it processes the data solely on our behalf under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Early-access form

When you submit the form we store your name, company, e-mail address and the optional details (number of servers, message), the selected language and the time. The data is stored on our own server and used only to process your request and contact you about early access to ServerBouncer. We store neither your IP address nor your browser identifier with the request and do not pass the data on to third parties. To prevent abuse, the number of submissions per IP address is briefly limited in memory; this count is not stored.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract at your request). Name, company and e-mail address are required to process your request; without them we cannot contact you. We delete your details once they are no longer needed for processing, at the latest 12 months after our last contact, unless a contract is concluded or statutory retention obligations apply. You can request deletion at any time.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website sets only one cookie: sb_af, a technically necessary security cookie (protection against cross-site request forgery) that is set on the form page only. It contains no personal data, applies to this website only (SameSite=Strict, HttpOnly) and is deleted when you close the browser. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; no consent is required for it.

If you choose a light or dark theme with the switch, your browser remembers this choice locally (localStorage). It is never sent to us and can be deleted at any time in your browser settings.

6. External links

The imprint links to the website of our professional liability insurer. Data is only transferred to that provider when you click such a link; the provider is responsible for its own processing.

7. No automated decision-making

We do not use your data for automated decisions or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Simply contact support@serverbouncer.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

9. Changes

We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
